Cleveland Clinic has broken ground on a $322 million expansion of Cleveland Clinic Avon (Ohio) Hospital and the Richard E. Jacobs Health Center.
Four notes:
1. The multiphase project will add approximately 250,000 square feet of clinical space and a parking garage, according to a July 30 health system news release.
2. Plans include expanding the emergency department, imaging services, the cancer center, surgical services, intensive care unit and inpatient capacity, along with expanding the Richard E. Jacobs Health Center to support additional outpatient care.
3. Avon Hospital opened in 2016 as a 126-bed facility. The Richard E. Jacobs Health Center opened in 2011, and Cleveland Clinic said demand for inpatient and outpatient services in the region has continued to grow.
4. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2029.
