Irving, Texas-based Christus Health is planning a $28 million micro-hospital in New Braunfels, Texas.
The system is planning to construct a 35,000-square-foot facility with 10 exam rooms, three triage/intake rooms, three imaging suites, four inpatient beds and four operating rooms, according to a state regulatory filing.
The new facility will be called Christus New Braunfels Veramendi Hospital. Construction is expected to begin Aug. 31 and the project is expected to be completed by late April 2028.
New Braunfels’ population has grown by nearly 30% since 2020, according to an April 2 letter from the city’s Mayor Pro Tem Lawrence Spradley.
The micro-hospital will be located less than three miles from Christus Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels.
