The tower, built above Banner’s three-story emergency room, houses 312 private rooms and will be licensed for 760 beds. It will be equipped with telehealth services and an electronic intensive care unit that will allow patients to contact physicians via screen 24 hours a day.
The tower was built in response to the growing population in Maricopa County, which has swelled by 74,000 since 2017.
“As our community grows, it’s vitally important we grow along with it so we can ensure the highest level of care in a more spacious environment,” Banner University Medical Center CEO Steve Narang, MD, told ABC 15.
