Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health has received a $25 million commitment from John and Ann Tickle, the largest philanthropic gift in the system’s history.
The donation was made through the Ballad Health Foundation, Ballad Health’s fundraising arm. It will support the system’s future healthcare priorities to improve health outcomes and strengthen healthcare delivery in Bristol, Tenn., according to a July 17 news release shared with Becker’s.
Ballad Health will work with the Tickles to find areas where the investment has the largest long-term impact.
“Their generosity will support Ballad Health’s ongoing efforts to enhance care for Bristol patients and families and advance innovative approaches that improve health and well-being across the community,” Alan Levine, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ballad Health, said in the release. “We are profoundly grateful for their leadership, vision and belief in the future of the region.”
More details regarding plans and initiatives supported through the funds will be shared as discussions continue, the release said.
Ballad Health comprises 20 hospitals, post-acute care and behavioral health services and a multi-specialty group physician practice.
