The health system applied to build the facility with one general operating room, one operating room for C-sections and one procedure room. The project moves beds and one operating room from Atrium Health Pineville in Charlotte. The new facility is expected to cost $53.8 million.
The hospital would be built and added to Atrium’s existing Steele Creek campus, which comprises a standalone emergency room and imaging services.
Pending approval, the construction would end spring of 2024, according to the report.
Earlier this year, state regulators approved Novant Health’s plans for a 186,000-square-foot, $179 million, 32-bed hospital in Steele Creek, according to the Business Journal.
