The health system revealed plans to install a metal detector at one of its behavioral health facilities Dec. 4, and previously installed one in its emergency room at Charlotte-based Carolinas Medical Center.
The effort is part of a heightened security initiative Atrium Health announced in August. More metal detectors will be installed at various facilities across the health system in the coming months, the report states.
