The 500,000-square-foot addition will replace a parking garage on the Minneapolis campus and will have four stories of patient rooms, surgery facilities and procedure rooms. It will have a patient-centric lobby, 30 new operating rooms, expanded heart-health services and more inpatient beds.
There will also be a skyway to connect a parking facility being built as part of a seperate construction project, and a new covered surface parking lot.
Allina Health plans to begin construction in late 2022 or early 2023, according to the Tribune. The price tag has not been determined yet.
