Aurora Medical Center-Mount Pleasant spans 198,000 square feet and has 12 intensive care unit beds, five operating rooms and an emergency department, Advocate Aurora said in a news release.

It also has a 98,000-square-foot medical office building with 24 specialty providers, including orthopedics, obstetrics, cardiology, sports medicine and rehab services.

The building will seek a Leadership in Energy and Environment Design Silver certification, a rating system for sustainability.

“After three years of planning and construction, and working closely with our community, we are pleased to open our doors to patients at this beautiful new medical center,” said Lisa Just, president of Aurora Medical Center-Mount Pleasant and South Wisconsin patient service area. “Aurora Mount Pleasant brings expert, quality care closer to home, and fills a vital need in the rapidly growing Racine/Kenosha counties and across south Wisconsin and northern Illinois.”
