AdventHealth prepares for new Colorado hospital: 5 things to know

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth has broken ground on a medical campus in Aurora, Colo., with plans to build an acute care hospital in its second phase.

Here are five things to know:

1. The first phase includes the AdventHealth Aurora Highlands emergency room and medical office building, according to a Jan. 29 system news release.

2. The emergency room will feature eight exam rooms, two trauma exam rooms and an outpatient imaging center. The building will also house clinic space with 27 exam rooms.

3. The ER is expected to open in September 2026 and will be considered a department of AdventHeath Parker (Colo.).

4. The second phase will focus on developing a level 3 trauma hospital.

5. AdventHealth will be the first healthcare provider to establish a campus in Aurora Highlands, a 4,000-acre planned community near Denver. The neighborhood is projected to grow by nearly 40% within a decade, according to the release.
