Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth has recently announced expansion projects across Georgia, Florida and Colorado.
The projects include plans to build new hospitals and land acquisitions for campus expansions. The capital moves come as the 57-hospital system expands its footprint in some of the fastest-growing communities in its service areas.
1. Georgia. AdventHealth Murray in Chatsworth, Ga., said May 12 that site preparation for its new campus will begin this summer, with groundbreaking planned later this year and an expected opening in 2028. According to the hospital, the 185,000-square-foot campus will include a 42-bed hospital and medical office building, expanded emergency and surgical services, critical care, advanced imaging and a cardiac catheterization lab. AdventHealth Murray said the project builds on the hospital’s clinical recognitions, including a Leapfrog Top Hospital designation and CMS 5-star rating.
2. Florida. AdventHealth plans to build a new 80-bed hospital in The Villages, Fla., to expand access to emergency, surgical and inpatient care services in the region, according to a May 8 health system news release.
The hospital will anchor 25 acres of Legacy Place, a planned 700-acre mixed-use development that will include retail, dining and business spaces. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with an opening projected in 2030. Early components of Legacy Place are projected to open in 2027.
The Wildwood-The Villages metropolitan area has been among the fastest-growing regions in the U.S., with population increasing by nearly 20% over the past four years, according to U.S. Census Bureau data cited in the release.
AdventHealth also is expanding in nearby communities, including a new emergency department in Fruitland Park, Fla., set to open later in 2026 and new pediatric and women’s care locations in Middleton, Fla.
3. Colorado. AdventHealth recently purchased 44 acres adjacent to its AdventHealth Parker (Colo.) campus to expand access and services. Plans for the space are being thoughtfully developed to best support patients in the coming years, a health system spokesperson told Becker’s.
The purchase comes as a new $300 million patient tower at AdventHealth Parker is under construction. The tower is slated for completion in February 2027 and will feature four operating rooms, 16 preoperative and postoperative rooms and 60 medical-surgical beds.”
