Tampa-based AdventHealth Carrollwood shared plans June 18 to begin construction on a $214 million expansion that will add a new six-story patient tower to its facility to increase inpatient capacity and enhance surgical and specialty services.
The project at the hospital, which is part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth, will include an expanded surgical support area, a new cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology lab, a new parking garage, flexible space for future clinical and support services and additional space for future bed expansion, according to a June 18 news release shared with Becker’s.
Hillsborough County (Fla.) currently has more than 300,000 residents within a close proximity to AdventHealth Carrollwood, and is growing rapidly.
Construction is expected to begin soon, with the new parking garage expected to open before the tower, which is projected to open in 2029 to patients.
