Here are three things to know.

1. Dubbed “Shipping with Amazon,” the new delivery service will involve Amazon picking up packages from businesses and shipping them to customers.

2. Amazon plans to launch the new delivery service, which is being piloted with the company’s third-party sellers, in Los Angeles in coming weeks. The company may expand the service to other cities by the end of 2018, people familiar with the matter told WSJ.

3. The new delivery service positions Amazon to directly compete with FedEx and United Parcel Service, according to the report.
