AI startup streamlining electronic medical billing process receives investment from Northwestern Mutual

Pythonic AI, an artificial intelligence-powered medical records startup, was awarded $85,000 in seed funding from Northwestern Mutual after winning the Milwaukee-based financial services company's second annual Reverse Pitch MKE entrepreneurship contest.

The startup introduced a method of automating parts of the medical record review process using machine learning and natural language processing. The method is directed specifically at the type of record analysis necessary in underwriting insurance policies and evaluating claims.

Along with the seed money, Pythonic AI will also receive a space in the Northwestern Mutual-sponsored Cream City Labs in downtown Milwaukee, where the team can work on fine-tuning and launching their AI technology.
