The service offers Van Buren County Hospital providers and patients a chance to consult with University of Iowa Hospitals’ hospitalists via secure video conferencing.

“We can’t always bring all of the specialties to us, all of [those] resources to us, and that is why technology is so wonderful. We can have that from far away,” said Rhonda Fellows, RN, MSN, CNO at Van Buren County Hospital, in a video describing the service.

Van Buren County Hospital has been affiliated with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics since the 1990s, and in 2002, it began operating as a critical access hospital.
