For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Sept. 14-18

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Up 3.02 percent last week, shares of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services rose more than any other major for-profit hospital operator.

Here is how the five operators stack up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $50.44 per share (down 2.74 percent).
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $82.49 per share (down 2.60 percent).
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $79.17 per share (up 0.65 percent).
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $44.50 per share (down 5.04 percent).
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $137.23 per share (up 3.02 percent).
