Tucson-based University of Arizona will offer a new undergraduate degree focused on the medical device industry, following approval from the Arizona board of regents in June.
The Bachelor of Science in Medical Device Development and Application will be based in the College of Medicine with enrollment set to start in spring 2026, according to a June 17 news release from the university.
The program combines coursework from medicine, engineering, business and law. Students will take introductory medical school classes and receive training in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, device design, business operations and regulatory frameworks.
The degree will include collaboration with Tech Launch Arizona, the university’s technology commercialization office, the release said.
