Origin will use machine learning to connect pharmaceutical companies, payers and health systems in need of innovation with MATTER-sponsored startups to foster collaboration and the development of new healthcare solutions. Each AI-recommended match will be vetted by MATTER, which will then initiate an introduction most appropriate for the two parties, whether that constitutes a formal pitch meeting or a more casual discussion.
The idea for Origin came from rMark Bio’s own experience in the MATTER incubator. As a MATTER member, rMark Bio was introduced to a pharmaceutical company in need of its technology. The success of that partnership influenced the startup to reassess and reframe its services, embark on other pilot programs and, now, launch Origin to encourage similar collaborations.
