Darrold Bertsch. CEO of Sakakawea Medical Center (Hazen, N.D.). Mr. Bertsch became CEO of Sakakawea Medical Center in 2009 and took responsibility for Coal Country Community Health Center in Beulah, N.D., in 2011. He is responsible for operations at the hospital, which is 70 miles outside of Bismarck, N.D., and has earned the National Rural Health Association’s Outstanding Rural Health Organization Award. In addition to his role with Sakakawea Medical Center, Mr. Bertsch is a board member for the North Dakota Rural Health Association.
