University of Colorado Health-Medical Center of the Rockies (Loveland). In 2009, the Medical Center of the Rookies was awarded a LEED Gold certification, making it, at the time, the largest hospital in the country to earn the designation. The medical center continued its sustainability efforts by enrolling in the Healthier Hospitals Initiative and committing to tackle all six challenges. In 2014, the Medical Center of the Rockies was recognized for its environmental improvements at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Annual Environmental Leadership Awards ceremony.
