Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston. Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston is one of the largest inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the country and the official teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. When the hospital was built, it used oak timbers and granite that were reclaimed during the site remediation. In 2013, Spaulding opened its 132-bed eco-friendly facility in Charlestown, which received a LEED Gold certification. In addition to its green buildings, Spaulding participates in all six HHI Challenges.
