Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital (Washington, D.C.). Sibley Memorial is a nonprofit, full-service, 318-bed community hospital that has served Northwest Washington, D.C., since it was founded in 1890. Today, Sibley Memorial Hospital strives to improving environmental health and sustainability by participating in all six HHI Challenges. Strong environmental practices at the hospital earned Sibley the District of Columbia Hospital Association’s Environmental Excellence Award in 2013. Sibley Memorial is currently home to a LEED-Gold certified radiation oncology center and is working on a patient pavilion, called the New Sibley, which is designed to meet LEED certification standards as well.
