Henry Ford Health System (Detroit). Founded in 1915, Henry Ford Health System is comprised of six hospitals and a 1,100-physician group practice. The health system’s flagship facility, Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, houses a Level I trauma center. Henry Ford Health System boasts more than 24,600 employees — making it the fifth largest employer in the Detroit area — who serve patients for more than 99,700 hospital admissions and more than 3.77 million outpatient visits. In January 2016, the health system launched Henry Ford ACO as part of the CMS Next Generation ACO model. HFACO includes all employed physicians and physicians in the system’s medical group as well as all six system hospitals and some affiliated skilled nursing facilities.
