Ronald Wyatt, MD. Patient Safety Officer of The Joint Commission. As the first-ever patient safety officer of The Joint Commission, Dr. Wyatt promotes quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in health systems and works to expand the influence of the organization in public policy. Dr. Wyatt has previously served as director of the Patient Safety Analysis Center at the Defense Health Agency and member of the Food and Drug Administration Drug Safety Oversight Board. Additionally, Dr. Wyatt has led several patient safety initiatives, including the development of the Quick Safety Publications and the National Patient Safety Goals.
