Krishna Das, MD. Chief Quality Officer for Cook County Health & Hospitals System (Chicago).
As chief quality officer, Dr. Das leads quality improvement and patient safety initiatives for the third largest public hospital system in the nation. CCHHS is comprised of two acute-care hospitals, 16 community-based health clinics, a correctional health facility and the Cook County Department of Public Health. Dr. Das is restructuring CCHHS’ quality program and has established a new patient safety program, a department of patient experience and many other initiatives to improve quality and safety. Dr. Das is also actively engaged in patient safety efforts nationwide, including the Hospital Quality and Patient Safety Committee of the Society for Hospital Medicine and the Medical Leaders Steering Committee of America’s Essential Hospitals.
