Orange City (Iowa) Area Health System. Orange City Area Health System replaced its 1960s-era hospital with a new one in May 2006. The new $29.6 million, two-level facility is on a 37-acre campus and its lobby has a waterfall and fireplace, among other amenities. Besides being beautiful, OCAHS also plays a role in the community’s economy, employing more than 500 medical professionals and support staff. It is a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital according to the National Rural Health Association’s list this year, and it has been named a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital twice by iVantage Health Analytics, most recently in 2015.
