Arthur J. Blank. President and CEO of Mount Desert Island Hospital (Bar Harbor, Maine). Mr. Blank first joined Mount Desert Island Hospital as CEO in 1999. Under his leadership, the hospital forged a teaching partnership with Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine, became an accredited critical access facility and affiliated with nine community health centers. Mr. Blank’s stewardship to the regional healthcare community reaches far beyond MDIH. Mr. Blank was installed as chairman of the Maine Hospital Association board of directors in 2012, is a founding board member of HealthInfoNet (a statewide health information exchange) and serves as a member of the American Hospital Association’s committee on research.
