Since joining Dallas Medical Center as CEO in 2010, Ms. Kumar, 40, has helped the hospital grow. Under her leadership, the hospital has added spine, cardiovascular, gastroenterology and obstetrics service lines and has seen increases in patient volumes as well as simultaneous decreases in operating cost. Monthly revenue collections have more than tripled since Ms. Kumar took the reins, and more than 150 new physicians have joined the hospital’s staff. Ms. Kumar earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and also holds a certification in managing healthcare delivery from Harvard Business School. She is active in the community and serves on the board of directors for Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce.
