Stephen Burriss. President of UNC REX Healthcare (Raleigh, N.C.). In April 2015, Mr. Burriss became president of UNC REX Healthcare, a 660-bed hospital belonging to University of North Carolina Health Care in Chapel Hill. Under Mr. Burriss’ leadership, the number of hospital employees nearly doubled to about 6,500 staff members. Recent leadership initiatives include opening a new behavioral health zone to serve growing mental health needs, launching an outpatient radiology joint venture, and completing REX’s heart and vascular expansion project. Mr. Burriss received the Goodmon Award for commitment to community from Leadership Triangle in 2017.
