Ruth Brinkley | 183 nonprofit hospital and health system CEOs to know 2017

 Ruth Brinkley, MSN, RN. President of Kaiser Permanente Northwest (Portland, Ore.). Ms. Brinkley stepped down as president and CEO of Louisville-based KentuckyOne Health in July 2017 — a role she had held since the health system's 2012 inception — and was named president of Kaiser Permanente Northwest three months later. She has an extensive background in senior management, having served as president and CEO of Tucson, Ariz.-based Carondelet Health Network for four years and as president and CEO of Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Memorial Health Care System for five years. Ms. Brinkley also held various leadership positions with Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives, including senior vice president for performance management and senior vice president of operations. She is a member of the Women Business Leaders of the US Health Care Industry Foundation, the American College of Health Care Executives and the National Association of Healthcare Executives. Ms. Brinkley previously on the boards of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, SunTrust Bank of Chattanooga and The Women's Leadership Institute, and served as chairperson for both the Chattanooga Area Hospital District of the Tennessee Hospital Association.
