David Bailey, MD. President and CEO of Nemours (Jacksonville, Fla.). Dr. Bailey became president and CEO of Nemours, an integrated children’s health system with two freestanding hospitals, in 2006. Dr. Bailey is leading Nemours through a cultural transformation, incorporating the Toyota lean principles of continuous improvement to boost quality outcomes and safety. Under Dr. Bailey’s leadership, Nemours has engaged in population health and children’s advocacy initiatives in 22 states. Both Nemours hospitals achieved HIMSS Stage 7 top ranking, a feat Dr. Bailey is proud of. Before devoting his career to administrative leadership, Dr. Bailey spent 16 years as a pediatric gastroenterologist.
