Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center
Location: Leitchfield, Ky.
Type of company: Hospital/health system
Meet the organization: This 75-bed community hospital has just under 400 employees and serves a six-county area with a population of more than 90,000. Since opening in 1951, Twin Lakes Regional has not reduced its workforce. For the second year in a row in 2014, the hospital was chosen as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Kentucky by the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Added benefits: Membership to the on-site fitness center is offered to employees for free to encourage a healthier and happier workforce. Even though diversity in the local community is less than 1 percent, 32 percent of the hospital’s medical staff is culturally or ethnically diverse. TwinLakes Regional’s Wonderful Outstanding Worker, or WOW, program allows employees to nominate their peers for recognition every month. A well-attended picnic is held annually, typically at a local water park, where employees’ families are also invited.
