The hospital’s “Grow Your Own” program offers employment opportunities for select graduates from the University of Alaska in nursing, pharmacy, social work, laboratory and imaging departments. Additionally, Project SEARCH is a collaboration between the Mat-Su School District, Alaska Governor’s Council on Disabilities and the Alaska Division of Vocational Rehabilitation that provides year-long internships to young disabled adults to help them gain marketable skills. In 2011 and 2012, 100 percent of the interns found employment.
