Meet the organization: Founded in 1888 with just 12 beds, HackensackUMC was Bergen County's first hospital. Today, it includes 775 beds and has won numerous awards, including being ranked the No. 1 hospital in New Jersey in U.S. News & World Report's 2013-14 list of "Best Hospitals." The nonprofit hospital includes the Sarkis and Siran Gabrellian Child Care and Learning Center, which houses 21 classrooms for the children of HackensackUMC employees.
