William Ferniany, PhD. CEO of UAB Health System (Birmingham, Ala.). In his role as CEO, Dr. Ferniany leads one of the largest academic medical centers in the nation with more than 16,000 employees and 1,157 beds. Prior to joining UAB Health System as CEO in 2008, Dr. Ferniany served as associate vice chancellor and CEO of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Dr. Ferniany has been working as a senior healthcare leader since 1975, joining the academic medicine domain in 1998.
