Nancy Howell Agee. President and CEO of Carilion Clinic (Roanoke, Va.). At Carilion Clinic, Ms. Agee leads a comprehensive network of hospitals; primary and specialty physician practices; and other complementary services collectively providing care for 1 million Virginians. Ms. Agee began her career in healthcare as a nurse with Carilion Clinic in 1970 and has held many leadership roles with the system. She took the top post as CEO in 2011. In January, she began serving on the American Hospital Association board of trustees — she’s slated to begin service as the board’s chair-elect designate in 2018.
