Karen Collins, RN. CEO of Lady of the Sea General Hospital (Cut Off, La.). At the helm of Lady of the Sea General Hospital, Ms. Collins oversees all business operations of the organization. She joined the 25-bed critical access hospital 33 years ago as a staff nurse on the med-surg units. Over the subsequent years, Ms. Collins has been promoted to roles of increasing responsibility, including nurse manager, CNO and ultimately CEO. Ms. Collins was instrumental in helping the hospital open a 23-patient rural health medical clinic, as well as two community pharmacies.
