Knox Singleton, CEO of Inova (Falls Church, Va.). Mr. Singleton joined Inova as executive vice president for operations in 1983, when the system was still called the Fairfax Hospital Association. He was named CEO of the organization in 1984. Before joining Inova, Mr. Singleton worked in hospital leadership at the Hershey Medical Center of Pennsylvania State University and at the English National Health Service, at Guy’s Hospital in London. Today, Mr. Singleton is also involved in a variety of community organizations that address issues such as affordable housing and human services. Earlier this year, Mr. Singleton shared the system’s plans to develop an Inova Center for Personalized Health on Exxon Mobil Corp.’s 117-acre Merrifield, Va., campus. Inova expects to close on the purchase within the next five years, but will lease the property in the meantime.
