Donald L. Jernigan, PhD. President and CEO of Adventist Health System (Altamonte Springs, Fla.). Before taking the reins at Adventist Health System in February 2006, Dr. Jernigan held several positions within the nonprofit, Protestant system, including executive vice president of Adventist and CEO of Florida Hospital in Orlando. Dr. Jernigan earned his PhD in physical chemistry from BaylorUniversity. Outside of leadership within Adventist, he has been a diplomate of the AmericanCollege of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Governor’s Council of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, to name a few positions.
