David Pate, MD, JD. President and CEO of St. Luke’s Health System (Boise, Idaho). Dr. Pate has served as president and CEO of St. Luke’s Health System since September 2009. Prior to this position, Dr. Pate held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System in Houston (which has no affiliation with the Idaho system), last serving as executive vice president and CEO of the system’s flagship Texas Medical Center hospital, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. Before entering healthcare administration, Dr. Pate was a practicing general internist and an adjunct professor of law at the University of Houston Law Center in the Health Law & Policy Institute. Dr. Pate earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
