This joint venture between area physicians, Dallas-based Methodist Health System and Nueterra Health opened in November 2010. Its mission is to provide a new level of excellence to patients requiring neurosurgery or orthopedic surgery of the head, neck, spine, sinuses or major joints. It includes 38 orthopedic surgeons who cover patients “from shoulder to shoe,” as well as 33 spine surgeons and six ENT surgeons. Methodist Hospital for Surgery has seven operating rooms and 32 private patient rooms. This year, Healthgrades awarded the hospital the Patient Safety Excellence Award as well as the Joint Replacement Excellence Award.
