Steven Packer, MD. President and CEO of Community Hospital of the Monterey (Calif.) Peninsula. Dr. Packer became president and CEO of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in 1999. Prior to leading the CHMP, he acted as the hospital’s chief of staff and medical director for its intensive care unit from 1988 to 1999. Dr. Packer, a pulmonary and critical care specialist, was a partner in a cardiopulmonary practice on the Monterey Peninsula and graduated from Stanford University’s Stanford Executive Program before taking on his current role. He is a member of the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California and sits on the California Hospital Association board of directors.
