Michael Cruz, MD. President of OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center (Peoria, Ill.) and Interim Central Region CEO of OSF HealthCare System (Peoria, Ill.). Dr. Cruz joined OSF Saint Francis in 1987 as a resident in the emergency medicine program and became an emergency medicine attending physician in 1990. He spent a decade as vice chairman of the emergency medicine department before he was appointed vice president of quality and safety and associate CMO of OSF Saint Francis in 2007. Dr. Cruz became president of OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in 2014 and also serves as interim central region CEO of OSF HealthCare System. In addition to a successful clinical career, Dr. Cruz dedicates his time to research and currently sits on the OSF Saint Francis and Community Institutional Review Boards.
