Michael Born, MD. President and CEO of SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health (Rockford, Ill.). Dr. Born became president and CEO of SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health, in July after spending three years as the health system’s CMO and chief quality officer. He has experience overseeing SwedishAmerican’s infection control, risk management, quality management and patient safety departments. Before joining SwedishAmerican, Dr. Born was vice president of clinical operations for BestPractices, a Fairfax, Va.-based emergency department physician staffing and management services provider, and medical director of Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Northwest Community Hospital’s emergency medicine department.
