Marschall S. Runge, MD, PhD. Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and CEO of Michigan Medicine (Ann Arbor, Mich.). The University of Michigan Board of Regents named Dr. Runge executive vice president for medical affairs and CEO of Michigan Medicine in March 2015. He became the dean of the University of Michigan Medical School in January 2016 and has previous experience as executive dean for Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC School of Medicine. A cardiologist by training, Dr. Runge was principal investigator and director of the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute at UNC Chapel Hill before joining Michigan Medicine. Dr. Runge has been a physician scientist throughout his career and holds five patents for novel approaches in healthcare.
