John Brumsted, MD. President and CEO of University of Vermont Health Network and CEO of University of Vermont Medical Center (Burlington). Dr. Brumsted became CEO of the 562-bed UVM Medical Center and The UVM Health Network, a six-hospital system including 1,000 physicians, in February 2012. He oversees approximately 7,500 employees and a medical staff of nearly 800 physicians at UVM Medical Center. An obstetrics and gynecology physician by training, Dr. Brumsted began practicing medicine in 1981 and took on leadership positions with increasing responsibility, eventually serving as CMO and chief quality officer of University of Vermont Health Network. He also has experience as medical director of The Vermont Health Plan and Vermont Managed Care.
