Gerard J. Galarneau, MD. President of GHVHS Medical Group & CMO of Catskill Regional Medical Center (Harris, N.Y.). Dr. Galarneau joined Greater Hudson Valley Health System in 2013 as CEO and CMO of Catskill Regional Medical Center. In June, he took on the role of GHVHS Medical Group president. During his tenure, Catskill Regional Medical Center has converted half its triple-bedded rooms into private and semi-private rooms and increased employee and patient satisfaction. The hospital achieved stroke center designation and bariatric surgery and oncology accreditation since he took the top post. Prior to joining Greater Hudson Valley Health System, Dr. Galarneau served as vice-chair and chairman of Middletown, N.Y.-based Orange Regional Medical Center’s department of urology, where he was eventually promoted to the hospital’s chief of staff.
