Alan S. Kaplan, MD. CEO of UW Health (Madison, Wis.). Dr. Kaplan joined UW Health in May 2016 after spending seven years at Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health. He joined UnityPoint Health in 2009 and founded UnityPoint Clinic, a 1,300-provider organization that he oversaw as president and CEO. Dr. Kaplan also has experience as executive vice president and chief clinical transformation officer of UnityPoint Health. In his current role as CEO of UW Health, Dr. Kaplan oversees the system’s 505-bed University Hospital, UW Health at The American Center and six regional cancer centers. A board-certified emergency medicine physician, Dr. Kaplan is a former board member and fellow of the American Association of Physician Leadership.
