Philip Loftus, PhD. Senior Vice President and CIO of SSM Health (St. Louis). Dr. Loftus sets the IT and clinical engineering strategy for the 24-hospital SSM Health as senior vice president and CIO. He also holds responsibility for the health system’s supply chain, Navitus pharmacy benefit manager and Lumicera specialty pharmacy business. The health system has 40,000 employees in four states, and also includes 300 physician offices, 10 post-acute facilities and a health insurance company. Prior to his time at SSM, Mr. Loftus was CIO of Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care, where he led EHR implementation and developed a comprehensive IT strategy to support the health system’s goal of becoming a more closely integrated delivery system.
