Hospital for Special Surgery (New York). For the seventh consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranked the Hospital for Special Surgery No. 1 in the nation for orthopedics for 2016-17. It also ranked the hospital as No. 2 in the nation for rheumatology and rated it as high performing in hip and knee surgery this year. The Magnet-recognized academic medical center also made CareChex’s 2017 top 100 for major orthopedic surgery ranking. In 2015 alone, the hospital treated 150,000 patients for surgical and nonsurgical orthopedic and rheumatologic needs. The Hospital for Special Surgery is dedicated to musculoskeletal health and is an affiliate of New York-based Weill Cornell Medical College.
