St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana (Indianapolis). St. Vincent Heart Center, an Ascension affiliate, has around 30 heart care clinics, 180 cardiovascular physicians and 300 heart care associates. Each year, more than 25,000 patients visit the St. Vincent Heart Hospital and in 2013 the hospital’s surgeons performed over 1,400 open heart surgeries. St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana offers clinical cardiovascular rotations for Indiana University medical students and monthly rotations for residents and interns. Blue Cross Blue Shield Association honored St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana as a Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care and CareChex named St. Vincent No. 3 in the state of Indiana for cardiac surgery.
